Destined: Number 9 in series (House of Night)

Destined - Kristin Cast, P.C. Cast First Impression:Book 9. Really this is the 9th book? Honestly, I cannot believe that it took me looking up the summary to realize how far I have come in this series. Usually I get bored or tired of a series way before this point. ***WARNING***The following review may contain information from previous books of the series. Read at your own discretion. While Reading:To be frank, part of me cannot believe that the House of Night series is still going. In nine books, I hardly think a year has past since this story began. I could be totally wrong about the time frame, but seriously, time goes really slowly in these books. But when evil is a foot, time has no boundaries, I guess. And with Destined, the Casts make no exception. The time span of this book probably took no longer than a week, tops. That being said, the House of Night as really begun to make me question its realism. Yes, vampires themselves are not very realistic. But honestly, how much stuff do these kids need to go through?Moving on. As usual with the House of Night series, we are forever seeing new characters introduced. Old characters leave us. And POVs from characters that really surprised me.In Destined, we get to finally see from Lenobia's POV. I have always loved her character and was happily surprise to finally get under her skin. I never imagined the history she has with humans. Love it! Then, there is Erik. While we gotten into his head in the past, I am sensing some changes coming. As it what they are, we will have see... but I feel a new girlfriend in his future. And last but not least, Aurox. I am torn. If you have read the previous books, you know about this vessel. I like his character.. I do. But I don't like his soul. I wish they would just let this certain character go. I know that is vague. But I don't want to spoil it for those have not gotten this far yet.Final Verdict:Destined was no where close to what I thought it would be. Every single darn time I am ready for the series to draw itself to a close, the Casts pull me back. And Destined sure was a roller coaster. Of all of the books, Destined is definitely high on my favorites list. And it has a lot to do with the emotions the book evoked. I hate to admit it, but I cried a good bit of the last half of the book. I hope the Casts keep up this streak cause it looks like this series isn't going any where anytime soon.
